Purse stolen out of occupied car in downtown Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Police are investigating a Saturday night theft complaint in downtown Monroe.

Saturday night around 10 p.m., Monroe Police responded to a reported theft complaint that occurred on the 200 block of Walnut.

An investigation revealed that an unknown black male subject entered a female victim’s vehicle through a rear door and removed a purse that was sitting on the center console. The victim was in the driver seat of the vehicle at the time of the theft and was parked in a parking lot at the above location.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction. No one was injured during this incident.
