MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Monroe Chamber of Commerce official has been arrested and charged with drunk driving.

Lori Reneau, the chamber's Executive Vice President, was arrested for misdemeanor driving while intoxicated first offense.  Sources say that Reneau was pulled over after she returned from her lobbying trip to Baton Rouge.

Northern Exposure was held yesterday in Baton Rouge, in which, the Chamber of Commerce and up to 300 other civic leaders held meetings with Governor Bobby Jindal, among others.

Monroe Police say that Reneau was driving over 3 times the legal limit.  Her blood alcohol content was registered at .25.  The legal limit is .08.

A source tells KNOE 8 News that Reneau was driving in the wrong direction on Forsythe Avenue when she was pulled over.  She had just gotten off of a charter bus from Baton Rouge.

Northern Exposure officials hosted an event on Tuesday night for legislators and other state officials.  They returned to Monroe after that event several hours later.
