UPDATE: Armed robbery victims dies from gunshot wound

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The victim in an armed robbery and shooting today has died in the hospital from his injuries.

Monroe Police confirm that Harry Collins, owner of Collins Coins, died during surgery at a Monroe hospital.

We received a couple of calls saying that Collins was primarily a coin dealer, and just had a sign on his property saying he bought gold and silver.

Earlier, his injuries were considered non-life threatening. Police say that was reported by first responders with the ambulance service.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police are investigating an armed robbery at The Gold and Silver Shop at 602 Hudson Street.

Three black males entered and fired shots, that injured the stores owner, Harry Collins. As of 7:30 pm, Monroe Police say Collins is in surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

Monroe Police used K9 units to search for the suspects, so far nothing has been found.
