Tim Lavigne

Tim Lavigne is the Weekend Meteorologist for KNOE 8 News and a General assignments reporter during the week. Tim joined KNOE 8 News in April 2014. Originally from Connecticut, Tim graduated from Lyndon State College in 2011 with a Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology and began his career in Yuma, Arizona at KSWT-TV in March 2013 where he received a crash course in broadcast journalism. Contrary to many meteorologists, It took a while for Tim to develop a love for his profession.

"My love for weather started in 2002 when I started tracking hurricanes during the most active part of the season. I plotted the tracks of both Hurricane Isidore and Lili using a laminated map of the U.S. on my wall, a black magic marker, and storm information from the Weather Channel. I actually didn't consider being a meteorologist until my junior year of high school, and didn't commit to meteorology or a college until January of my senior year in 2005. Before that, I figured I would end up getting my diploma and jump into the working world instead of going to college. Then one day, something clicked, and the rest is history." Tim has gotten the opportunity to work with mobile Doppler radars and experienced the fury of Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

In his spare time, Tim enjoys the outdoors, listens to music, and is an avid pool player. He encourages anyone that runs into him while he's playing to challenge him to a game, either competitively or just for fun.
