Tornado touches down in Bossier Parish

PLAIN DEALING, LA (KSLA) - Bossier Sheriff's Office confirms that a home has been has been hit by a tornado Monday morning.

Deputies say it happened around 3 a.m. at a home just west of Plain Dealing near Highway 2 in the 100 block of Buckshot Road. A man and two boys were inside the home at the time. No injuries were reported.

Deputies say there are several homes with fallen trees on them. They say as many as six homes are damaged. At least two homes are damaged just west of Plain Dealing on Highway 537. Also three more homes were damaged on Buckshot Road. No word of injuries.

Caddo Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director Sandy Davis says 16 homes were damaged on Highway 537 and Buckshot Road. All residents are accounted for and no injuries have been reported.

Deputies say power is out for hundreds in Plain Dealing at this time. There are 340 SWEPCO power outages in Bossier Parish at this time.
