UPDATE: Tallulah murder suspect surrenders in Utah standoff

IRON COUNTY, Utah (KNOE 8 News) - The Tallulah murder suspect who barricaded himself in his car in Utah has surrendered to police.
The child held hostage in the vehicle is safe.

Louisiana State Police have identified the man as Veland Adams, 29, of Washington. Adams is one of five suspects in the Tallulah murder of Quincy Wafer.

Adams, two other adults, and one toddler were traveling on Interstate 15 in Irons County, Utah, when they were pulled over by police. The two other adults in the vehicle fled, but were apprehended. Adams drove away with the toddler in the vehicle.

After a chase, police used spike strips to disable the vehicle, that's when Adams barricaded himself inside, hold the toddle hostage.

Adams is in police custody, and the child is safe.

LSP confirm that one of the five suspects in the murder of Quincy Wafer in Tallulah.

A source close to the investigation says the suspect is currently holding a small child hostage in Iron County, Utah.

He is one of five suspects, four of which have been identified by police.

TALLULAH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A body has been found outside a Tallulah Days Inn motel.

According to State Police officials, the body was discovered around 3:00 AM this morning.

State Police are investigating, and no I.D. has been determined at this time.

A source tells KNOE 8 News that public workers found the body of a man this morning. The source says that the body was found burned up.

No cause of death has been determined. The body is being sent to Jackson, Miss. for an autopsy.
