AverCom call center in Lake Providence temporarily moves to Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - An East Carroll Parish-based call center has had to move its employees to a Monroe office due to problem with the Lake Providence building.

AverCom Virtual Solutions provides services to businesses such as website design, site hosting, and graphic design. The company opened a call center in northeast Louisiana earlier this year. The business was set up inside what was the Lake Providence Community Center.

Company founder Nielle Bush says the building "won't work out." She says that after moving in and employees starting to work, multiple issues have been discovered. Bush says the building has mold problems, doesn't meet fire code, and the plumbing is unreliable.

"Over the last weeks, it's rained and come through the holes in the roof," says Bush. She says the rain damaged computers and other equipment in the office.

"Those employees are now working out of the Monroe office," says Bush.

Bush says 15 employees were currently working at the call center.
