Lincoln Parish, search warrant leads to major drug bust

LINCOLN PARISH, LA. (KNOE 8 News) - A search warrant executed by the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team yields multiple arrests, a marijuana growing operation and several loaded firearms.

Friday, agents executed a search warrant at a home on Fisher Lane in Ruston. During the execution of the search warrant agents made contact with James Balthazar, Quontrez Balthazar, Deambra Singleton and Lakenya Lafitte inside the residence.

When agents entered the residence they detected a strong odor of burnt and green marijuana. During a search of the residence three grow houses were located in two bedroom closets. Twenty three marijuana plants were located in the grow houses. Also located in the bedrooms were a .38 caliber revolver loaded, .45 caliber semi automatic handgun loaded with two magazines, .233 caliber rifle with two magazines. Plus, four plastic bags containing suspected marijuana weighing 34.6 grams and two digital scales.


All four subjects were handcuffed, searched, advised of their rights and taken to LPNET then to LPDC.

This search warrant execution and arrests that followed are the results of an ongoing investigation by the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team. This was an extensive grow operation. The possession of the firearms during a drug felony certainly enhance penalties face by offenders and remind law enforcement and the public of the dangers involved with illicit drug activity.
