Pogue thanks supporters and Grambling for the past five years

GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News)-Spring Convocation at Grambling State university began with the concert choir singing and ended with GSU President, Frank Pogue saying goodbye and thanks to his supporters of the last five years.

Pogue delivered his second to last official address as president. On April 4. he announced his plans to retire from the university, coming after a year of struggles.

Pogue believes his experience at GSU has been a learning experience that he will never forget. Pogue's convocation speech centered around Grambling
continuing their mission for excellence while also reminding everyone of the major cuts the university has dealt with.

Pogues last official address will be May 9. at the spring commencement.        

He will serve out his presidency through June 30.

The university of Louisiana System will conduct a national search for Pogue's successor at Grambling State.
