MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - An autopsy is released in the officer involved shooting that happened in Ruston back in February.

It revealed four different gun shot wounds on the body of 24-year-old Johnny Richardson.

A Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Deputy shot and killed Richardson.

He was shot once through the left forearm. Another bullet grazed his left forearm and entered and exited through the left side of his chest.

The third shot entered his back and exited through his chest.

A fourth bullet was found in Richardson's back.

Deputies say Richardson ran from them when he was approached.

Deputies also say Richardson stopped, turned toward deputies and pointed a gun at them.

State Police were called in to investigate.

"Its a pretty thorough process it can take anywhere from a couple weeks to a couple months. This one took a couple months I believe. All of these investigations are very, very thorough there are a lot of people that need to be interviewed," says Paxton.

All of the information has been handed over to the Lincoln Parish District Attorney, who takes over the case from here.
