Alexandria Shelton's body was found in a Lafayette park over the weekend her death was ruled an accidental drowning.

She was a senior criminal justice major who was on her way to graduating. Alexandria's brother, Justin says his sister's death has been hard but knowing her Grambling family is sharing the loss provides comfort.

The vigil was filled with tears and laughter, Alexandria's classmates and family shared memories of the times they spent together.

Classmates will remember Alexandria as someone who never took shortcuts and as someone who never discussed a problem without giving a solution.

Alexandria was scheduled to graduate May 9. and she will.

GSU President, Frank Pogue hopes to present the diploma to her family.

Services for Shelton are Tuesday in Lafayette at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 1 PM.
