Juvenile arrested on second degree murder

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A juvenile is facing attempted second degree murder charges after a shooting occurred around midnight on Sunday.

Police say a group of juveniles have been in an ongoing dispute.

One group allegedly drove by the home of a rival, located on the 300 block of Pershing Avenue, and fired several shots at the house.  

Police say the adult owner of the home was struck in the jaw.  The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.

Police were able to identify a 16 year old male as the suspect.

The suspect is currently being held at Green Oaks Detention Center and the investigation is ongoing.
