RUSTON, La (KNOE 8 News)- Women gather in Ruston to speak out in support of equal pay for women.

Senator David Vitter and other republican members of the Senate denied the bill and women in Louisiana aren't happy about that.
Angie Wilson was not only panelist to discuss the importance of equal pay for women at the American Association of University Women luncheon, she has fallen victim to unfair pay as well.

Angie has five daughters and seven grand daughters. When the act was not passed in congress she didn't feel defeated, but inspired to continue getting her message across.

Louisiana is ranked 49th out of 50 states when it comes to fair pay for women.

State representative, Kenny cox of Natchitoches takes this act to heart. He served as Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army and served the country with women.

He believes they should not be treated like this especially if they can perform equal or better than a man.
