MOREHOUSE PARISH, La. (KNOE 8 NEWS)- Michelle Hobbs may be just a bus driver to some but to Kristy and Zanna Ward she's a life saver.

On Valentines Day she had to do something that's not in her job description.

Michelle came to rescue of eight year old Zanna Ward after the child started choking on a piece of candy.

A friend gave Zanna the Valentine's candy.

Zanna wishes she would not have been so eager to satisfy her sweet tooth.

Michelle heard the ruckus behind her and immediately noticed in her rear view mirror that little Zanna was gasping for air.
Michelle pulled the bus over on a two lane highway and stepped into first responder mode.

Bus driver Michelle Hobbs is CPR certified however it is not required for bus drivers to have that certification.
