RUSTON, La. (KNOE 8 News)-It was a phone call no sibling wants to get.

"At that time we stopped selling everything we locked all the doors and made sure no one left and no one came in" says Kim Rogers.

Rachel Pickett is here in Ruston.  Her sister Kim Rogers works on base at Fort Hood and was across the street from Wednesdays deadly shooting.

We were on the phone with her Wednesday night as she recounted horrifying ordeal.

"Being at work its mind boggling its stressful you are wondering if they are going to come in" says Rogers.

But this is a scene and phone call that's all to familiar for this family.

"This one is nothing compared to the last one the last one was a lot worse" says Rogers.

Rogers was also on base in 2009 when 13 people were killed and more than thirty hurt after Nidal Hasan opened fire.

Wednesday four people including the shooter died in a crime those familiar with the base still can comprehend.

But Pickett is just glad her sister is safe and can here her voice.

"I love you and I'm so glad you are ok" says Pickett.

"I love you soon will talk with you soon...love you later" says Rogers.
