Kiroli breaks ground on all-inclusive playground

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8News) - The city of West Monroe and the West Monroe Civitan Club want to makesure all kids can enjoy Kiroli Park, including those with disabilities.

On Tuesday, the city, cuband the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce hosted a ground-breakingfor the handicap accessible Smiles Pavilion.

Jay Mitchell, president ofthe West Monroe Civitan Club, said after the pavilion is built, anall-inclusive playground will be constructed next to it.

'It's going to be a great facility for allchildren. But most importantly the playground is going to be constructed anddesigned that kids with disabilities are going to be able to play on the playgroundsafely and enjoy it, just like the lids that don't have disabilities," Mitchellsaid.

Also during the ground-breaking ceremony,Kona Ice donated $2,750 to go towards the pavilion and playground.
