MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News/Ouachita Christian School) - Ouachita Christian School announces our 2014 OCS Benefit Event, which will take place in the Jack Howard Theater at the Monroe Civic Center on Monday evening, April 21st, at 7:00 p.m. This memorable evening, which will be a celebration of Ouachita Christian's 40th anniversary, will be headlined by Tim Tebow, and also feature a performance by the Rhett Walker Band.

Widely recognized as one of the greatest college football players of all time, Tim Tebow's collegiate career as a Gator at the University of Florida culminated in two national championships and his being honored as the first sophomore recipient of the Heisman Trophy.

A first round selection in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos, Tim burst onto the national stage as he led the franchise to the 2011 NFL Playoffs for the first time in six years. In 2012 Tim suited up with the New York Jets. A fierce competitor with a strong work ethic, Tim is a leader his teammates trust and respect.

But even more than his impressive athletic skills, it is his integrity and character that have won him legions of fans. Tim lives a life that consistently reflects his values, and he is dedicated to helping people and communities in need.

In 2010, he founded The Tim Tebow Foundation, which is partnering with CURE International to build hospitals in the Philippines. In addition to Tebow CURE Hospitals, the foundation also grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses and is building playrooms in hospitals and orphanages, among other far-reaching charitable works.

While Tim sees football II as a platform for greater good, it's clear that the public's fascination with him spreads far beyond the gridiron. He has over 2 million Facebook subscribers and 2 million Twitter followers, and his New York Times best selling memoir Through My Eyes, was named the #1 Sports Book of 2011. Tim was also named one of TIME Magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2012.

In an industry where many are celebrated only for their performance on the field, Tim Tebow is an example of how much can be accomplished by living your values and making a positive difference in the lives of others.
