Posted: Updated:

VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - The Vicksburg National Military Park is looking for volunteers to help paint battlefield cannons and carriages and the iron gates at Vicksburg National Cemetery on April 5.
The Vicksburg Post reports the effort is part of the annual Civil War Trust Park Day.
Park natural resource program manager Virginia DuBowy says volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the USS Cairo Museum parking lot.
Volunteers should dress for outdoor work and in clothes that they can expect to be soiled with paint. She recommends long-sleeve shirts, long pants, tennis shoes or work boots, and work gloves."
The park will provide a pizza lunch for volunteers at noon at the USS Cairo picnic area.
More information is available by phoning DuBowy at 601-619-2921.
