Posted: Updated:

Monroe, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Common Core is making national headlines.

On Monday, Indiana was thefirst state to officially pull out of the common core curriculum.

Our own governor, Bobby Jindal, said hesupports the legislators' efforts to revisit the issue of Common Core and tweakit to fit Louisiana standards.

"I don't want to see a federalcurriculum. I'm all for high standards. What I am not for is a one size fitsall. The federal justice department under President Obama is already comingafter our state for school improvements right now. I think that's wrong. Idon't think President Obama, I don't think Eric Holder should be telling us howto run our schools," Jindal said.

The battleover Common Core will begin Wednesday when the Louisiana House EducationCommittee begins hearing four bills.
