Overnight attempted robbery at Burger King

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - At approximately 1:00 AM on Tuesday morning, Monroe Police responded to a reported Attempted Armed Robbery that occurred at Burger King, 1701 MLK Dr.

The investigation revealed that an employee had left the rear of the business and was confronted by a masked subject who forced the employee at gunpoint back into the business.

Once inside, the suspect demanded money from the manager and forced the other employees to lie on the ground.

A customer approached the drive through window at which time the suspect fled on foot from the rear of the business. The suspect did not take any items from the location.

The suspect is described as a black male approximately 5'11", skinny build wearing all dark clothing, a halloween type mask, backpack, and armed with a handgun.

The suspect was last seen running towards Winnsboro Rd.
