Supporters believe campaign signs were vandalized in Tallulah

Posted: Updated:

TALLULAH, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Earlier this week incumbent Mayor Eddie Beckwith's campaign sign at a busy intersection was ripped out the ground and left face down.

His supporters were told it was caused by strong winds but they don't believe the wind could do that much damage without destroying numerous other signs at that location.

Mayor Eddie Beckwith's campaign spokesman, Carlos Ford is a firm believer in being fair. As a pastor he believes treating everyone with respect is the best route for anything good to come out of a situation.

The election is April 5-th...with early voting starting tomorrow....so many candidates are stomping hard for votes.

Mayoral candidate Paxton branch's signs have also been damaged.

He says vandalism is not a way to show your distaste for a candidate.
