OBERLIN, La. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Authorities say foul play is suspected in the death of an Oberlin man whose body was pulled from inside a burning mobile home.

Allen Parish Sheriff Doug Hebert III says the body of 59-year-old Freddie Green was pulled from his mobile home Tuesday after a passing motorist noticed smoke coming from the home around 8:15 a.m.

Hebert says his deputies are treating the death as a homicide.

He says Green suffered wounds to the neck and head.

An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause and time of death.

Hebert says Green, who lived alone, was last seen Sunday night.
