Vitter holds town hall meeting in Tallulah

TALLULAH, La. (KNOE 8 News) - In political news, U.S. Senator David Vitter is in the area and he's stopping in several towns and holding town hall meetings. At these meetings, he's asking for your thoughts and concerns.

On Monday, Vitter talked to a room full of constituents about the issues that concern them most. Such topics include tax reform, job creation, and, of course, Obamacare.

"I don't think we need any 2,800 page bill, including one written by all republicans that would remake our health care system. I think we need targeted reform. Each one can be focused on a real issue and go to that target," Vitter said.

Vitter said conservatives don't want to raise taxes, but they do want tax reform.  He said that reform could grow the economy and help reduce the deficit.

"The president wants to do it in a way that increases taxes through tax reform I don't think we need that on the economy even more," Vitter said.

Interestingly enough, Senator Vitter signed up for healthcare through the exchange. He said the process was difficult and he now pays *more for health insurance.
