BATON ROUGE, La. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is creating a new political action committee to assist conservative candidates running for Congress.

Louisiana's Republican governor announced the plans Thursday, saying it will be called the Stand up to Washington PAC.

The move will give Jindal continued opportunities to travel the country, build name recognition, bolster his donor network and draw support in other states, as he eyes a possible 2016 presidential campaign.

The governor was scheduled to be in the important presidential primary state of New Hampshire on Friday for a speech to the Northeast Republican Leadership Conference.

Jindal's second term as governor ends in early 2016, and he's term-limited from running again. Asked repeatedly about his White House ambitions, Jindal says he doesn't yet know if he's running for president.
