Monroe Police searching for stolen truck and trailer

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Monroe Police Department along with Crimestoppers of Ouachita needs the public's help in locating a stolen truck and trailer that contained lawn care equipment.

On 02-20-14, the 72 year old owner of a red 1991 Ford F150 truck with La license tag X982353 was conducting yard care in the 2800 Blk of LaSalle drive in Monroe.

The vehicle had a trailer containing lawn care equipment such as a zero turn mower, Stihl weed eaters, and other equipment attached to the truck. The owner had left the keys in the ignition of the vehicle which was parked on the roadway.

At approximately 11:00 AM, witnesses stated that an unknown BM subject, no other description, took the vehicle and fled the area. The theft was immediately reported to Monroe Police and the vehicle was entered into NCIC (National Crime Information Center).

To date, all attempts to locate the vehicle have been unsuccessful. Anyone with information about this stolen vehicle or suspect information is urged to contact the Monroe Police Department at 318.329.2600 or Crimestoppers.
