WINNSBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A Franklin Parish school bus driver has been arrested for driving under suspension after backing a bus into another vehicle.

Louisiana State Police confirm the accident happened around 6:40 a.m. Friday on Louisiana Highway 577 near Hixon Lane.

Troop F spokesman, Trooper Albert Paxton, says the bus driver, Janice Norris, 52, of Winnsboro, backed into a 2014 Jeep Compass driven by Amy Bourgeois, 43, of Winnsboro.

About 30 students were on the bus. No injuries were reported.

Norris was arrested and booked into the Franklin Parish Detention Center on charges of driving under suspension and improper backing. Authorities say her driver's license was suspended for non-payment of traffic tickets issued from out-of-state.

Police say foggy weather conditions may have attributed to the accident.
