North Monroe Baptist 'Runs to the Battle'

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - For the first time, North Monroe Baptist hosted Run to the Battle to send missionaries around the world.  About 300 people either ran or walked in the 10k, 5k, or 1-mile events. The church says they thought up the name from the story of David and Goliath.

Missions Pastor David McCormick said David faced his fears head on and ran to the battle.

"We are encouraging people, whatever giants they are facing in their lives, to not be passive about it, to not wait on the worst to hit them, to be active and aggressive, and to run toward the issues, struggles, or fights that they face," McCormick said.

McCormick says the church is planning on making the *run to the battle* an annual event.
