JONESBORO, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Jackson Parish deputies have made one arrest in a reported rape at a town councilman's home this week.

After a Saturday night party at Jonesboro Councilman LaStevic Cottonham's home, a woman drove herself to a Jackson Parish hospital where she reported being raped at the party. Sheriff Andy Brown says the victim was unclear who assaulted her, but after detectives interviewed other guests, all point to Cornelius Boston as the suspect.

Boston, 33, is in custody for simple rape. Sheriff Brown says although Boston's involvement seems clear, investigators do not believe he is the only suspect.

DNA samples were taken from each of the men at the party, and has been sent to a Shreveport crime lab for analysis.

Sheriff Brown says the if investigators find that any other guests were aware of the alleged crime, they will also be charged.
