UPDATE:

FARMERVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Union Parish Sheriff's office is still looking for two fugitives that escaped from the parish jail Saturday night.

Sheriff Dusty Gates identified the two as Thomas Kinnaird Jr., 36, of Ruston, and Benjamin Morana, 39, of Junction City. Kinnaird is described as a white male, 5'10" weighing about 200 pounds. He was serving time for simple burglary but has a history of violent crimes, according to the sheriff said. Morana is described as a white male, 5'9" weighing about 180 pounds. He was serving time for aggravated incest.

Gates said that he was told that the prisoners were in their cells when checked at 6 p.m. He said they escaped, apparently over the prison fence, sometime between 6 p.m. to shortly before 9 p.m. when the escape was reported.

The sheriff's office does not operate the detention center.
