LAKE CHARLES, La. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - A former Calcasieu Parish assistant district attorney has been indicted on charges of sexual battery and malfeasance.

Sixty-three-year-old Ronnie Rossitto worked at the Calcasieu Parish District Attorney's Office for more than 30 years and was at one point the office's first assistant district attorney.

Under the charge of malfeasance, the indictment, returned on Thursday, said Rossitto "intentionally performed his duties in an unlawful manner."

State District Judge Robert Wyatt set Rossitto's bond at $25,000.

Laura Gerdes Colligan, with the state Attorney General's Office, said the charges stem from a January 2013 incident in which Rossitto allegedly groped a man in his office after offering to help the victim get his driver's license reinstated.

It was unclear whether Rossitto has an attorney.
