"Peeping Tom" arrested in Monroe

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police were dispatched regarding a suspicious person complaint early Thursday morning. Oficers were able to locate Demarcus Jones, of Monroe, on South 11th Street hiding beside a nearby dumpster.

The investigation revealed that Jones had been knocking on doors and looking through windows at area homes and was not known to the residents.

Jones was found to have several items wrapped in a jacket that included empty purses, shoes, cameras, and other items. These items are believed to have been stolen from burglaries that have yet to be reported.

These items were retained as evidence pending notification of thefts. Jones was arrested and booked at the Richwood Correctional Center for Peeping Tom charges, Disturbing the Peace, Trespassing, and Possession of Marijuana.
