Children's Mardi Gras Parade rolls through the mall

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - For the 10th year, the Krewe of Janus held their Children's Mardi Gras Parade.

It started at center court at the Pecanland Mall and rolled through the food court. About 30 floats entered this year, and threw beads to hundreds of parade goers.

"It gives the kid's the chance to come out and catch their own beads. There's no weather factor it's in a controlled atmosphere and the little kids get a chance to catch the big beads just like the big people do at night," event organizer Kim Thomas said.

Volunteers from stores in the mall and parade sponsors served as judges this year for the children parade.
