MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - An audit report discussed at the Ouachita Parish School Board meeting revealed theft at one of the district's schools and misplaced movable property at two other schools.

Details of the audit findings show the theft at Crosley Elementary was discovered by the Ouachita Parish School Board's internal auditors and reported to the audit firm and the District Attorney's Office.

According to the report, internal auditors discovered $2,517 missing when they audited the financial statements of the school following the sudden resignation of the school's bookkeeper.

Business director Juanita Duke said the money has been paid back in full and the matter is now in the hands of the district attorney.

The audit also discovered misplaced property at two of the three schools audited for moveable property.
