A car runs into a Monroe family's home again

Posted: Updated:

The sound of fast tires whipping around the turn on Louburta street and 27th in Monroe brings bad memories to the mind of Dave Seller.

"But it used to be a dead end down here and they added the road and that's when accidents started" says Seller.

Those old, familiar memories came back to the surface around 3:30 Thursday morning when a car ran into his house and through his living room.

He says the driver pulled out and then drove off.

"The lights were on it was dark in the house but you could see the lights from the car, I pray no one was hurt and when I went to look whoever was involved with the accident left the scene" says Seller.

This sight is fresh in his mind because last July is the last time this happened.

Unfortunately that wasn't the first time either.

In fact,Seller can recall five identical accidents dating all the way back to 1993.

Seller says people speed around the sharp turn every day.

With the poor road conditions he's not surprised at all that this happened.

"Driving by on a dry day its fine but not so on a wet day even and it was ice this morning" says Seller.

Once again the Sellers will choose to rebuild. Monroe Police are still looking for the driver.
