BILOXI, Miss. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - Authorities say 19-year-old Jonathan Ian Morales has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the fatal shooting of his 13-year-old stepsister.

Morales faces up to 20 years in prison at his May 5 sentencing in the slaying of Sadie Warden. Morales pleaded guilty Monday in Harrison County Circuit Court before Judge Lisa Dodson.

Morales was 17 when he called 911 on May 30, 2012, and said Sadie was the victim of a drive-by shooting. He gave police a description of the shooter and the vehicle.

The girl was shot in the back of her right shoulder and died of a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police went to the scene, then began looking for a drive-by shooter until Morales' friend told them Morales shot her.
