GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Continuing coverage out of Grambling State University where a snowball fight at a student apartment complex got out of hand and students were hosed down with water by Grambling fire fighters.

Today KNOE reached out to Grambling fire chief David wells but he refused to go on camera.

He tells us his department and GSU's police department are working hand-in-hand to investigate the incident.

We asked to see the fire truck he says was dented by students but were denied.

GSU police are reviewing surveillance video to find the person or persons responsible for pulling fire alarms in three different buildings leading up to the incident.

We have also asked GSU for a copy of the surveillance video and have been denied.

Chief Wells says the fire fighter who was hospitalized after being hit by a snowball is now out of the hospital.

GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A snowball fight turned violent late Tuesday night on Grambling State University's campus.

Students recorded video of Grambling fire crews taking out the water hose, spraying water up in the air and toward the direction of the crowd.

But Fire Chief David Wells said his department was provoked. He said his employees were assaulted with snowballs and rocks. Wells also said one firefighter had to go to the emergency room and there are dents on the fire truck.

GSU Police Chief Ruby Jones said several fire alarms were set off Tuesday night. She said GSU police and the Grambling Fire Department had to respond to each alarm.

"We are actively pursuing the persons responsible for pulling the fire alarms with there being no emergencies," Jones said.

A student who wished to stay anonymous said they were just outside, having a good time. He said they did not provoke the fire crew.

Twenty-year-old Devin Jones was arrested for interfering with a firefighter and disturbing the peace. His bond has not been set.

Police are reviewing the surveillance video from campus security, which should clarify who exactly is at fault.
