OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Mayors from several towns in the South and Midwest that were decimated by tornadoes in recent years will gather at the National Tornado Summit in Oklahoma City to talk about recovery efforts.

Mayors from Joplin, Mo., Moore, Okla., Hattiesburg, Miss., and Tuscaloosa, Ala., will kick off the two-day summit on Monday by discussing how their towns dealt with the death and destruction following the tornadoes.

Republican Rep. Randy Neugebauer from Texas is also expected to make an announcement about federal legislation that aims to reduce injuries and save lives during windstorms.

Scientists, insurance adjustors, vendors and assorted weather watchers are also expected at the summit.
