LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KNOE 8 News/AP) - A winter weather advisory has been issued for much of Arkansas as more snow heads into the Natural State.

The National Weather Service says the advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday. Forecasters say snowfall amounts will range from a half-inch of snow to up to 3 inches in some areas.

Snow is expected across much of west-central and central Arkansas on Friday. The band of heaviest snowfall is expected on a line from Mount Ida to Conway to Newport.

The weather service says the accumulating snowfall should begin Friday afternoon and continue into the evening. Snowfall is expected to taper off early Saturday.

Forecasters say more wintry weather is possible early next week in Arkansas.
