MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Ouachita Parish Sheriff Officials say that Demarcus Chisley has been arrested.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is wrapping up an 18-month investigation into a complex burglary ring.

With a police chase that began in Ouachita Parish last night, seven law enforcement agencies arrested two more suspects at Grambling State University.

In all, nine suspects are now in custody and the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is still looking for one suspect.

Early Wednesday morning, Terrance Williams and Josh Chisley were arrested on Grambling's campus without incident. Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office Detective Jason Pleasant said the pair, along with a third suspect, Damarcus Chisley, ran from police Tuesday night.

"We had some general ideas about where they may be and we attempted to initiate a stop in south Monroe, off Winnsboro Road," Pleasant said.

The investigation led law enforcement to Grambling State University where Williams and Josh were arrested at two different dorms.

"The only outstanding person we have is Demarcus Chisley. He has three warrants for burglary with a bond of$4,000," Pleasant said.

This is an ongoing 18-month investigation, which has led to a total of nine arrests and Pleasant said he expects more arrests. He said the suspects are responsible for a number of crimes including attempted second degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery and burglary.

"Everybody has somewhat of a job. They are all associates and they all have that relationship," Pleasant said.

In a twist of events, there was a shooting on GSU's campus around 10:30 Tuesday night that left the entire campus on lock- down. Pleasant said the shooting and burglary arrests are not related. The shooting victim only had minor injuries.

The two suspects arrested on GSU's campus aren't students.

In another twist, in the course of trying to arrest these suspect, a patrol car was involved in a minor accident last night in an effort to respond to the call.

If you have any information regarding the third suspect, Damarcus Chisley, contact the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office.

Previous report:

GRAMBLING, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two suspects are in custody, and one man is injured, following an alleged burglary and shooting that culminated on the Grambling State University campus.

Grambling State Media Representative Will Sutton says it all started with a reported burglary at a Monroe pawn shop. The search for the suspects involved the state police and multiple parish and local law enforcement agencies. It is believed the pursuit is also connected with damage caused to a Ouachita Parish Sheriff's deputy's vehicle that KNOE 8 News reported Tuesday night at 10:00 P.M.

Sutton says the campus was placed on lock down at 10:50 P.M. shortly after a shooting was reported at the intersection of Main and College Streets. He says, the male victim in that shooting was shot in the shoulder. Sutton says the victim was treated and released at the scene.

Sutton says, one of the suspects allegedly involved in both the burglary and the shooting, was tracked to campus through a cell phone and was arrested by La. State Police in Wheatley Dorm Tuesday night. Sutton could not confirm if that male suspect is a student. Wheatley dorm is a female residential hall.

Sutton says the lock down was lifted at about 2:30 A.M. Wednesday.

Wednesday morning at 8:30 A.M., Sutton says, GSU Police received an anonymous tip about a second suspect in connection to the case. Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Deputies arrested that male suspect in the Pinchback dormitory. It is not clear if the second suspect is a GSU student.

Sutton says the campus is cooperating with multiple law enforcement agencies. KNOE 8 News is working on more details on this story and will have updates throughout the day here at KNOE.COM and today on KNOE 8 News.
