MONROE,La. (KNOE 8 News)-It's being called the biggest drug bust in recent years.

A two year meth investigation covering three parishes has ended up with five arrests and the seizure of guns, ammunition, cash and cars.

Not to mention more than 61-pounds of methamphetamine.

The arrests include Christopher Takewell, Brian Menzie, Susan Platt, Marilyn Corley and Jason Harper.

Metro Narcotics, the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department, Lincoln and Union Parish all took part in the investigation.

The seized items include 27 guns in all which were 10 assault rifles and 17 hand guns.

Other seized items are 3,000 rounds of high powered ammunition, 985 ounces of meth totaling to a street value of just over 98,000 dollars and 149 dollars worth of cash.

There were three cars seized also.

Law enforcement arrested 5 meth dealers but according to Lincoln Parish Sheriff Mike Stone this isn't the last time we will see numerous agencies working together to make our streets safer.

"I think you are going to see more combined efforts like this it's a terrible drug most of our drugs out here are, and this type of corporative effort is going to make our parishes a whole lot safer" says Stone.

Now according to metro narcotics the investigation is still on going but the five arrests made are large dealers in the area.

Four of the five will be facing federal charges.
