Boy Scouts hold Klondike Derby

DOWNSVILLE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Over in Union Parish, Boy Scout Troops in the Louisiana Purchase Council were having some outdoor fun during their annual Klondike Derby, even without snow.

Troops from 20 parishes met at the T.L. James camp near Downsville for the event, which features scout craft skills such as archery, shooting and wall climbing.

On Saturday evening they had a dog sled race, where the boys will act as both the musher and the dogs.     More than 300 adults and boy scouts attended this year's event.
