Two West Monroe men booked on forcible rape and imprisonment

WEST MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Two men have been arrested on charges of the rape and imprisonment of a 16-year-old female.

Monterrius J. Russell, 17, and Stanquarius M. Shaw, 23, both of West Monroe, were arrested by West Monroe police at Shaw's residence Thursday.

The teenage victim told officers she and a friend were at a house near Drago Street Tuesday night, when the victim reportedly drank a cup of green liquid and started to feel sleepy and dizzy. The victim says she fell asleep in a bedroom with her friend, and the two suspects Russell and Shaw.

She told police she woke up half-clothed Wednesday around 10 a.m. Her friend was gone and the two suspects were in the bed with her. According to the victim, the door was sealed with a knife to prevent her from leaving. According to the arrest report, she was held there until 5 p.m. She left, walked home and reported the incident to her mother.

Russell and Shaw were positively identified by the victim but denied any knowledge of the incident. Both were booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on forcible rape and false imprisonment.
