26th Annual KNOE Boating and Outdoor Show

Posted: Updated:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The 26th annual KNOE Boat and Outdoor Show is underway at the Monroe Civic Center. Our Nolan Crane shows us what vendors have to offer and why thousands of people from all across the south are showing-up.

The Monroe Civic Center looks more like a harbor with more than 50 boats on display. There are several vendors are hoping their camouflage boats will standout and catch the eyes of visitors.

"Thousands of people come from all across the area, the Ark-La-Tex, the Ark-La-Miss, come to see us, get a perfect deal on the perfect boat," said Dustan Ballance.

The vendors bringing in their boats have been selling them at the KNOE Boat and Outdoor Show for several years and if you don't see what you won't. Edward Koserog says it's probably never been made.

"90 percent of every product made is in this boat show from the street to inside the arena you can see everything made. There are very few boats that will not be here this weekend," said Koserog.

Even if you don't like fishing or don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a new boat there are other displays that might hook you. The gun show promoter says there is something for everyone.

"This is a family event where husband, wife, kids can come in, browse, they can buy, they can trade, they can enjoy themselves looking at the guns and knives. There are some quit unique guns here. Guns that people probably have never seen, never knew existed," said Wade Hanks.

Tickets are $8 per person and children 12 and under are free. While on our web site print an entry form to win a $1,000 prize giveaway, plus save a buck on admission.

The 26th Annual KNOE Boat and Outdoor Show begins Friday begins at noon and goes until 7 pm. On Saturday the doors open from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
