State offices closed in 33 parishes

BATON ROUGE (KNOE 8 News) – Commissioner of Administration Kristy Nichols announced Thursday that state government offices will be closed on Friday, January 24, in the following parishes across Louisiana where hazardous driving conditions and scattered power outages are forecast for the morning due to a mix of rain and sleet, as well as snow and ice accumulation:

Acadia, Allen, Ascension, Avoyelles, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Evangeline, Rapides, Vernon, Pointe Coupee, West Feliciana, West Baton Rouge, Iberville, St. Martin, St. Landry, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Mary, Vermilion, Grant, Catahoula, East Baton Rouge, Jackson, LaSalle, Livingston, Natchitoches, Red River, Sabine, St. Helena, Winn, and Concordia

State officials continue to monitor weather conditions across the state, and this announcement may be updated.

All agency heads are responsible for determining those essential personnel who should remain on duty or those who should report to alternative work sites if necessary.
