UPDATE: Amber Alert issued out of Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Kailey Taylor has been safely recovered. Ransom Taylor is still at large and LPSO's investigation is on-going.


LAFAYETTE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Louisiana State Police has activated the Louisiana AMBER Alert System on behalf of Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office for a child who was abducted shortly after midnight this morning from a residence on Paul Molbert Rd. in Duson, LA.

The child, Kailey Kristy Taylor, is a 3-year-old black female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 3 feet tall and weighs 34 pounds. Her hair was braided on the sides and she was last known to be wearing a lime green shirt and pink & white pants.

Kailey was abducted by her father, Ransom J. Taylor, a 30-year-old black male with brown hair and brown eyes. He is 5'6" tall and weighs approximately 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, black jacket and black boots. He has a scar over his left ear. On his left bicep, he has a tattoo of a naked woman. On his right wrist, there is a tattoo bearing the name "Kristal."

They were last seen in a 2000 white Pontiac Bonneville bearing Louisiana tags XHM 285. The direction of travel is unknown but the suspect was last known to be living in the Lafayette area.
