UPDATE: Monroe man shot in head dies

UPDATE: MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News)- Quintarius Brown passed away in a Shreveport Hospital earlier this Monday morning after suffering from a gunshot wound to the head Saturday.

Monroe police are still investigating the incident and are looking for the gun used in the shooting.

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - According to Monroe Police, witnesses say 18 year-old Quintarius Brown accidentally shot himself in the head while handling a fire arm Saturday night.

When police arrived the gun used had been removed from the crime scene. Police are urging anyone with any information on the individual who removed the gun or the location of the gun to call Monroe Police.

Brown is still in critical condition at a Shreveport hospital with a head/neck injury.

PREVIOUS STORY:

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - A man, believed to be 18 or 19 years of age, is in critical condition at a local hospital after being shot in the head near Parkview Apartments on Bunch Circle.

It is unknown how the incident happened. Monroe Police are on the scene.
