MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - "Duck Dynasty" is back, but its viewers are not.

The show featuring the Robertson family from West Monroe premiered on Wednesday.

Only 8.5 million people tuned in. Last season's first episode drew 12 million viewers.

Gay activists lashed out at "A&E" after the families patriarch, Phil Robertson, made anti-gay remarks in an interview with "GQ" magazine.
