MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) – A federal grand jury has indicted Christopher Nixon for production of child pornography.

According to the indictment, between February 1, 2012 and March 30, 2012, Nixon produced child pornography using a male under the age of 18.

21-year-old Nixon faces 15 to 30 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, and five years of supervised release for production of child pornography. He also faces forfeiture of the equipment used to produce and store the child pornography. A trial date will be set at a later date.

"This case shows anyone who produces child pornography can and will be held accountable for their criminal actions regardless of where in the world the investigation leads or how much time has passed," said Raymond R. Parmer Jr., Special Agent in Charge of HSI New Orleans. "Sexual abuse scars children for life, and HSI will continue to do all it can to identify the perpetrators of these horrendous acts and seek justice on behalf of their victims."

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Chris Nixon will stay in jail to await a bond hearing for production of child pornography charges.

Ouachita Parish Police Juror Walter Caldwell is representing Nixon as a court appointed attorney.

Nixon was arrested on Monday after ICE investigators asked for public help in identifying a man who produced 2 pornography videos involving children.  The videos were made in 2012.

ICE investigators say that it only took 4 hours to identify "John Doe."

The court ruled that Nixon would remain in jail due to probable cause in connection with the case. Walter Caldwell refused comment about the pending case.

No new court date has been determined.

We'll have more information Thursday including exclusive video of Nixon as he was entering and leaving the courtroom.
