MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - The OPSO is currently investigating the death of an OCC inmate. William T. Menyweather, 40, of Monroe was booked earlier this morning for Theft of a Motor Vehicle by another agency.

During this encounter, a deputy was struck in the face and head causing her to require hospitalization. Deputies eventually subdued Menyweather. Shortly afterward, Menyweather became unresponsive and was transported to a local hospital.
