Man arrested for burglary on Auburn Avenue

MONROE, La. (KNOE 8 News) - Monroe Police responded to a suspicious vehicle in the 800 Block of Auburn and discovered a red Chevrolet pickup parked under the carport of a residence on this street.

Monroe officers began conducting a check of the residence and found the back door open and broken glass on the ground.

During the investigation, Darrin Kenny, of Monroe, ran from the residence and was apprehended by officers.

Upon being taken into custody, the investigation revealed that Kenny was armed with a knife. The Chevrolet vehicle was found to be stolen from Shreveport last week. Kenny was arrested and booked at OCC for Aggravated Burglary and Illegal Possession of Stolen Things.

No one was home during the burglary and no items were taken and no one was injured during this incident.
